1. How much is one cubic meter
Cubic metre is a unit used to measure volume. Sometimes people spell it 'cubic meter', however, the unit should be correctly spelled as 'cubic metre' here in Australia. Anyway, we're using both versions in this article to help you find it when searching for advice :). One cubic metre (1 m3) is a cube that has all sides 1m long. In case of moving boxes, as you can see on the illustration, it takes about 8 mid to large sized moving boxes to make a cubic metre. And, they do not need to be in the shape of a cube, even if you lay them side by side in one row, they'll still make one cubic metre. So how do you calculate m3 of your furniture? 2. How to calculate m3 of an item
You need to simply measure all 3 dimensions of your item: Length (L), width (W) and height (H). Then, use a calculator to multiply all three values to calculate the cubic metres: Item volume (m3) = L x W x H. Use the right units for the initial measurement - always use the value in metres to end up with m3. So, if the depth of your fridge is 64 cm, use 0.64 (m) as the value for the calculation.
